The ECC83 / 12AX7 tubes in these precisely matched pairs, trios, quads, and sextets were made in pre-war Yugoslavia and labeled for Audio Research Corporation. They have smooth gray plates and halo getters, just like the famed Telefunken 12AX7 tubes they were modeled after--at a fraction of the cost! The tubes say "made in W. Germany" but the code etched in the glass is for the Ei factory in Yugoslavia.
These unused tubes are surplus from Audio Research lines that transitioned to using 6DJ8 / ECC88 tubes instead. They meet ARC's high standards for tubes in their equipment.
Tubes test as new with balanced sections and low noise. They are precisely matched for both current draw (mA) and transconductance (Gm).
These tubes are sold as matched sets. Photos are samples from the lot. Single tubes, when available, are listed as Item 701.
