GE 6550 / 6550A - premium matched quad
The GE 6550A power tubes in this premium matched quad have crimped gray plates, 3 getters, and metal collar bases. The white print on the glass has the GE logo and 188-5 factory code (Owensboro, Ky). The glass is etched
with "6550A U.S.A." and the dot pattern characteristic of GE tubes.
Tubes test as new and are precisely matched for both current draw (mA) and transconductance (Gm). They ship in new white
boxes. It is very hard to find matched sets of vintage power tubes like these--grab them while supplies last!
These tubes are sold as a matched quad. Photo is of a sample from the lot.

Precision Power Tube Matching
Our power tubes are burned in for 48 hours and tested on a laboratory grade Amplitrex AT1000 tube tester (fixed bias mode, manual setting). They are screened for shorts, gas, leakage, and noise. We test and match tubes for both current draw (mA) and transconductance (Gm) at typical operating conditions for no extra charge.
The questions listed below allow you to provide information about your operating conditions that will help us select the best matched set of power tubes for your amplifier.
Why this matters
1. What is the manufacturer and model of your amplifier?
2. How is your amp biased? Why we ask

The late 1970s Sylvania 6550 power tubes in this premium matched quad have welded gray plates, 3 getters, and metal collar bases. The print on the glass has the Sylvania or PhilipsECG logo. Tubes test as new and are precisely matched for both mA and Gm.
