SED "Winged C" 6550 / SV6550C - precision matched
 This is the highly regarded SED 6550C / SV6550C. These current production tubes are constructed with a gold-plated molybdenum alloy grid and carbon-coated screen grid. All ratings of the SED SV6550C meet or exceed those of the original version; top-quality cathode materials and extensive aging yield outstanding performance in high-fidelity and musical-instrument amplifiers.
The SED SV6550C is made exclusively at the SED SPb factory in St. Petersburg and they bear the "Winged C" logo. This is the factory that made the famous Svetlana tubes before the New Sensor folks grabbed that name and started using it on other tubes not made by the original Svetlana factory in St. Petersburg. If you want the authentic Svetlana tubes, look for the "Winged C".
These
tubes have been burned in, tested at typical operating voltages on a
laboratory grade Amplitrex AT1000, and precisely matched for both
current draw (mA) and transconductance (Gm). Learn more about our burn-in and testing process here.

Precision Power Tube Matching
Our power tubes are burned in for 48 hours and tested on a laboratory grade Amplitrex AT1000 tube tester. We match tubes for both current draw (mA) and transconductance (Gm) at typical operating conditions (see #3 below) for no extra charge. We can also custom match power tubes at whatever specifications you provide (see #4 below).
