This 1970s Amperex 6085 tube has a tall bottle with gray plates and gold pins. The orange print on the glass has the PQ label, indicating selection for premium quality. The Heerlen, Holland factory code is etched in the glass.
This tube type was designed with a 10,000 hour heater life and resistance to shock and vibration. It can be used as a substitute for a 12AU7A in most circuits, if you have room for the extra height (they're about 68mm tall excluding the base pins).
This tube tests as new with balanced sections and very low noise. It has been screened for gas, heater-cathode leakage, shorts, and excessive noise and microphonics on each triode section.
It was tested at typical operating voltages on a laboratory grade
