Genalex Gold Lion EL84 / N709 reissue -- just another Sovtek EL84?
Originally made by Marconi-Osram Valve Co. (Genalex) in England, the famed N709 / EL84 power tube is once again available. The Russian made reissue of the Genalex Gold Lion EL84 uses premium manufacturing materials such as gold plated grid wire and carbonized plate structures. The glass bottle and spacers have been engineered to reduce noise and microphonics.
Here are some photos and descriptions that compare the Russian reissue Gold Lion EL84 with the current production Sovtek EL84 and a vintage CV2975 (similar to the original Genalex EL84 / N709).
